Renee brings a wealth of industry experience and a passion for teaching to her new role. Living on a lifestyle block near Masterton with her husband, three children, and various animals.
Renee has recently joined UCOL and is already making an impact. She specialises in teeth whitening, cosmetic tattooing, and beauty therapy. She stays active in the industry, working a few days a week at Isme Permanent Cosmetics in Masterton. Born and raised in the Wairarapa, Renee has a diverse background.
She began her career as a nanny, then transitioned into makeup artistry/Personal Assistant to an award-winning photographer in Wellington before returning to the Wairarapa, where she completed her Diploma in Beauty Therapy at UCOL, graduating with distinction.
With nine years of experience in the beauty industry and a previous career running her own wedding makeup business, Renee is passionate about the Beauty world and is continuing to expand her skills and knowledge through online training with artists from around the world.
Renee’s journey into teaching was inspired by a friend at UCOL who had encouraged her for years. With her children now older, she felt it was the right time to take on a new career and challenge. She is ready to bring her enthusiasm and dedication to this new role. “I was so pleased to learn that I would be working with Level 3 students, said Renee.
“I have a 16-year-old, so I feel I have a good understanding of what they’re going through, the emotions and the pressures of life; it’s a hard age,” Renee said that students come from all walks of life here. “Through the course, we provide stability while they work out their study path. We help them find their passion!”
