We want to make sure your first week at UCOL is a great experience. Join us for official welcomes, academic and career sessions, food and fun. Attending Orientation Week (O-Week) and Re-Orientation will help you meet other students in your class, find your way around campus and prepare you for study.
Event Dates
UCOL’s Orientation Week (O-Week) is in February, welcoming Semester 1 students, and the Re-Orientation (Re-O-Week) is in July, welcoming Semester 2 students every year.

Pōwhiri/Welcome: The pōwhiri is how we welcome new students to the UCOL whānau and returning students to campus.

Student Success Day: UCOL's Student Success team offers a range of services to help you get the most out of your time at UCOL. Whether it's counselling, study workshops, or The Pantry food exchange, Student Success is here to help you have the best UCOL experience in and out of the classroom.
Community Connect!: Community Connect! is your chance to get to know organisations that can provide wellness, social, and cultural support. You can also join clubs, which are great for meeting new people. Have a chat with the different service providers and join us for free kai.
Meet
and Greet: Don't worry if you're feeling a tad lost on the first day of classes; we've got you sorted. Members of UCOL's Student Success team will be around the campus and happy to point you in the right direction. After you've settled in, join us for shared food or a BBQ lunch at midday.
Note: Meet and Greet event is hosted by UCOL Manawatū. Our other campuses hosts similar event by other names each year.
