* Fees are indicative only, and are inclusive of the student services levy and GST (goods and services tax). The fee shown is for one year of study.

The programme is to upskill those interested in the rural sector’s practical aspects, namely light trucks up to 18,000kg. Upon completing this short course, you will have gained their Class 2 licence and be able to carry out day-to-day tasks efficiently with minimum supervision.

 Course Information

The course will cover:

  • Vehicle safety and basic use
  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Health and safety
You have to attend the class for two days and then the driving assessment on the third or fourth day. The programme schedule is as follows:

Day One - 24089 theory, intro to 17574 theory.
Day Two - 17574 theory completion, one driving assessment.
Day Three - x2 driving assessments in the morning, x2 driving assessments in the afternoon.
Day Four - x2 driving assessments in the morning, x1 driving assessment in the afternoon (then extra time in case of any issues).

 Advice & Guidance

You must have your Class 2 learners licence sighted before enrolling in the Class 2 licence practical training and assessment.

Once you’ve completed this course, you can take your endorsement certificate to a licencing agency like AA, VTNZ or VINZ and complete the paperwork to add it to your driver’s licence.
