 Traffic Light How UCOL Operates

Traffic light

Red Level

  • Please only come to campus if you are feeling well. If you have COVID-19 symptoms or are feeling unwell, please get a test from your local health provider and rest at home. Let your lecturer and healthinfo@ucol.ac.nz know, so that we can reach out to you and offer support if you need it.
  • If you or a household contact feels unwell and tests positive, then you are required to self-isolate. Please let your lecturer know and self-isolate.
  • While on campus, please cover up for others by wearing a mask. These will help lower the risks and make our campuses safer. This is not required if you you have a medical exemption card.
  • Social distancing and health measures apply, including capacity limits based on 1m distancing.
Please Tell Your Lecturer, and Email HealthInfo@ucol.ac.nz If:

  • You are a household contact of someone who has COVID-19, or
  • You test positive for COVID-19, or
  • You have symptoms and are awaiting a result.

Our HealthInfo team is small, and all information will be kept confidential.

Please note that our RAT stock has limited numbers, and we need these for responding to on-campus issues. We will not be able to give tests to people stockpiling, and if you’re already at home, we ask that you go to a local health provider for testing.

General Guidance

  • Fully vaccinated staff (7+ days since you've had your second jab) can travel to other campuses.
  • No UCOL events will be held while we are in Red.

Orange Level

Tertiary education can open with current health measures in place – sanitising, social distancing, and mask wearing is strongly recommended.

General Guidance

  • Campuses are open, with health measures in place.
  • Follow the traffic light system for the area you are in, and when travelling to other areas, e.g. you will need to obey Red regulations.
  • UCOL events must submit a RAMS form to Sylvie Hickton and it must be approved by her before the event can take place.

Green Level

General Guidance
  • There are no restrictions. However, we ask that you maintain current practices - sanitise regularly and stay home if unwell.
