The business studies course offers you the opportunity to learn a wide range of leadership and management skills and knowledge that will enable you to move into team leader and management roles.  

In just one year, you will gain an industry-valued business qualification that will also serve as an ideal stepping stone for further business degree studies.  This diploma provides one year of credit toward UCOL’s Bachelor of Applied Management degree.

 Domestic Entry Requirements

NCEA Level 3 (including 10 Literacy Credits at Level 2 and 10 Numeracy Credits at Level 1)

OR

Equivalent academic achievement

OR

On a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Executive Dean

 International Entry Requirements

In addition to the Domestic Entry Requirements, the following applies to international student applicants.

English language proficiency
International student applicants whose first language is not English must have an IELTS (or equivalent including TOEFL) score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5. IELTS scores used must be taken from a single IELTS Test Report Form (i.e. combining scores from more than one test is not permissible). UCOL is a TOEFL iBT testing centre.

Under 20 years of age
For international applicants under 20 years of age who do not hold NCEA, International Academic Qualifications Entry Criteria apply.

 Advice & Guidance

UCOL's New Zealand Diploma in Business (Leadership & Management) Level 5 comprises 120 credits.

 Accreditation

The programme is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under section 249 of the Education Act 1989, and Universal College of Learning (UCOL) Trading as Universal College of Learning (UCOL) is accredited to provide it under section 250 of the Act.
