This course will introduce you to safe chainsaw operation and maintenance within a farm environment. You will learn how to drop and de-limb trees safely and maintain chainsaws with guidance from professional arborists. The course will also introduce the use of wedges, winches, and other accessories.

On your successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Operate a chainsaw safely
  • Do maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Drop and de-limb trees safely

 Domestic Entry Requirements

No prior academic qualification is required; however, the participants must be physically fit and be 18 years old or over.
A verified copy of your identification. You should supply a verified copy of any of the following documents:

  • Current driver license;
  • Current New Zealand passport;
  • Birth certificate; or
  • Whakapapa statement
