Sustained improvements in student course completion rates at UCOL continue, increasing from 73% in 2012 to 79% in 2017. The Tertiary Education Commission have released 2017 results for all polytechnics, showing that UCOL students continue to do well.
Dr Jerry Shearman, Executive Director Education and Applied Research at UCOL said the results are a testament to the strength of UCOL’s teaching and learning, working alongside students and supporting them through their learning. “UCOL’s performance exceeds the polytechnic sector median in three out of four categories. For example, 41% of UCOL students go on to higher levels of study following a Level 1 to 4 qualification, well above the polytechnic sector median of 36% and the tertiary sector median of 28%.
UCOL students also stick around, with 72% of UCOL students re-enrolling after their first year of study, 9% ahead of the polytechnic sector median at 63%.
UCOL student course completion rates are steady at 79%, two percentage points behind the sector median of 81%.
UCOL continues to be a provider of high-quality tertiary education, supporting students to develop their full potential and experience real outcomes.
