Homestays
Homestay accommodation allows a student to live with a carefully selected New Zealand family. The average cost of homestay accommodation in Palmerston North or Wanganui is $200 per week. This is much cheaper than in bigger cities.
UCOL can arrange this type of accommodation for you before you leave your own country. Many students choose homestay accommodation for the first three or four months of their stay in New Zealand and then go on to share a flat with friends. You will be provided with your own room and at least two meals a day. Homestay allows you to concentrate on your studies and is a great way for you to learn as much as possible about New Zealanders and the way we live. It provides you with an opportunity to practice your English and get used to life in New Zealand while you have the support of a friendly and caring
New Zealand family.
Wanganui
Wanganui Student Flats
Whanganui UCOL has student accommodation available. The cost is approximately $110.00 (NZ$) per week - this covers everything except telephone, bedding and food. The student flats are situated approximately two kilometres from the main campus (about 15 minutes walk).
Other accommodation is available, usually at reasonable rates.
